The GSTEP consortium recently embarked on a transformative journey to the Eastern Region, celebrating the outstanding achievements of winning schools and students in the GSTEP challenge. Led by Ralph Nketiah, the GSTEP Eastern Region STEM Coordinator, the team presented STEM materials and equipment to deserving winners, recognizing their innovative spirit and excellence.
The GSTEP team provided a diverse array of STEM equipment as prizes, including microscopes, test tubes, projectors, robotics kits, and more. These state-of-the-art tools were awarded for notable awards including Most Innovative Idea, Founder’s Award, People’s Choice Award, and the Perseverance Award to schools in the Atiwa West District, Kwaebibirem Municipal District, New Juaben South Municipal, Juaben North District, and Abuakwa North Municipal.
The items will enable students to engage in hands-on learning, experiment with new technologies, and cultivate essential skills for future success in the ever-evolving STEM landscape.
The highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of The Light Bearers from Da-Great Impact School Complex, who secured the 2nd Runner-up position in the GSTEP challenge.
Keren Beecham, Project Manager at DreamOval Foundation, emphasized the importance of empowering students with STEM resources, while Afua Asiamah Adjei, Executive Director of DreamOval Foundation, urged schools to embrace STEM education, fostering a generation of forward-thinkers and problem-solvers.
The event was graced by officials from the Kwaebibirem Municipal Education Directorate, Abuakwa North Municipal Education Directorate, New Juaben North Municipal Education Directorate, and Atiwa West District Education Directorate, underscoring the significance of STEM education in the region.
The schools expressed heartfelt appreciation to the GSTEP team for recognizing their commitment to excellence, setting the stage for a future where STEM education shapes the leaders of tomorrow.
