DreamOval Foundation has officially opened applications for Cohort 3 of WEITech (Women Educators in Internet and Technology), a flagship initiative that’s changing the digital future for female educators in Ghana.
With generous funding support from the Internet Society Foundation, WEITech is shaping a bold new path for women in education by providing them with the digital tools and confidence to thrive in an increasingly tech-driven world.
Since its announcement, WEITech has received over 1,500 applications from passionate women across Ghana, evidence of a deep hunger for digital empowerment. The program is specifically designed to support unemployed female teachers and final-year female students from Colleges of Education, providing them with free, practical training in digital literacy, internet use, online teaching, content creation, and educational technology.
In just a few months, WEITech participants are equipped not only with tech skills but also with the ability to create online teaching content, manage virtual classrooms, and explore opportunities in digital education and entrepreneurship. Many of our graduates from previous cohorts have gone on to launch their own online learning initiatives, join edtech platforms, or become advocates for digital education in their communities.
WEITech is aimed at closing the digital gender gap in education. Despite increasing access to technology, nearly half of all women globally still do not use the internet, and many female educators in Ghana face significant barriers when it comes to digital access and literacy.
Cohort 3 promises to build on the momentum of the first two cohorts, combining online learning with community support and hands-on activities. Applicants must reside in Accra, Ghana, own a digital device (smartphone, tablet, or laptop), and demonstrate interest in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
The application process is simple and open until 13th June 2025. Successful applicants will begin their training journey in July 2025.
If you are an unemployed female educator looking to expand your digital skills and opportunities, or if you know someone who is, we invite you to apply today and be part of a transformative experience that is redefining what it means to be a woman in education.
Together with the Internet Society Foundation, DreamOval Foundation is committed to building a more inclusive, innovative, and empowered educational future for Ghana, one educator at a time.
