The Women Educators in Internet and Technology (WEITech) Program will host its Convocation and Exhibition on 17th June 2026, bringing together educators, technology enthusiasts, EdTech companies, development partners, policymakers, teachers, students, and the public to celebrate the achievements of women who are using technology to transform education.

Implemented by the DreamOval Foundation with funding support from the Internet Society Foundation, WEITech was designed to bridge the digital gender divide by equipping female educators with the digital literacy, internet, and educational technology skills needed to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving digital world. Through the program, participants gain practical knowledge that enables them to create engaging learning experiences, embrace innovation, and unlock new professional opportunities.

The Convocation and Exhibition marks the culmination of months of learning, collaboration, and innovation. More importantly, it provides a platform for participants to showcase the projects, ideas, and solutions they have developed throughout their WEITech journey. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with participants, explore innovative educational technology projects, and learn how digital tools are helping educators reimagine teaching and learning.

Since its inception in April 2025, WEITech has empowered female educators through multiple cohorts, creating a growing network of women who are confidently integrating technology into education and positioning themselves as leaders in digital transformation. Participants have been introduced to digital literacy, educational technology tools, artificial intelligence, digital safety, content creation, online course design, STEAM education, and entrepreneurship. These skills have not only enhanced their teaching practices but have also opened pathways for income generation, professional growth, and lifelong learning.

The impact of the program can be seen in the stories of the women who have participated. From designing interactive lessons and developing online learning resources to leveraging AI tools to enhance classroom engagement, participants have embraced new ways of teaching that make learning more inclusive, creative, and accessible. Through group projects, presentations, hands-on activities, and EdTech understudy placements, they have grown into innovators who understand the potential of technology to address educational challenges and improve learning outcomes.

The upcoming Convocation and Exhibition will shine a spotlight on these achievements while highlighting the broader vision of the WEITech program to create a future where women are not only users of technology but also active contributors to shaping how technology is used in education and society.

As Ghana’s education sector continues to embrace digital transformation, initiatives such as WEITech demonstrate the critical role women educators play in driving innovation and ensuring that technology serves as a tool for inclusion and empowerment. The event will serve as both a celebration of accomplishments and a reminder of the opportunities that emerge when women are equipped with the skills, confidence, and resources needed to thrive in the digital age.

The WEITech Convocation and Exhibition promises to be a gathering of educators, innovators, partners, and supporters committed to advancing education through technology. Whether you are an educator, student, development practitioner, technology enthusiast, or advocate for women’s empowerment, the event offers an opportunity to witness firsthand the impact of investing in women and digital skills.

Join us on 17th June 2026 as we celebrate the achievements of these remarkable educators and explore how technology is shaping the future of teaching and learning.
