DreamOval Foundation Set To Launch African Code Challenge

The DreamOval Foundation, in partnership with SAP, UNESCO, Youth Aid and Irish Aid is set to launch The AfriCAN Code Challenge virtually, on the 23rd of August 2022. The theme for this year’s challenge is Protecting Life Together.

AfriCAN Code Challenge is a pan-African coding competition where youth aged 8 to 16 tasked with coding a game using the Scratch programming language to show how they would change the world with their superpowers.

Participants will have the opportunity to code a sustainable solution to an environmental issue in their various communities using Scratch, a coding language with a simple interface for children. The AfriCAN Code Challenge aims to encourage the development of ideas to build a better future using coding and technology. The DreamOval Foundation is the lead implementer of the African Code Challenge in Ghana.
