When the DreamOval Foundation launched the Women Educators in Internet and Technology (WEITech) programme in 2024, the primary mandate was to bridge the digital skills gap among female educators, address systemic underemployment, and equip teachers to build online learning materials.

At the WEITech Exhibition & Convocation ceremony, sixteen female educators unveiled twelve fully functional digital platforms, tools, and resources designed to tackle challenges within Ghana’s education system, while more continued developing their ideas independently. Rather than simply absorbing digital tools or building educational courses, these women identified real classroom gaps and built active solutions to address them.

To support that momentum, the DreamOval Foundation, with support from the Internet Society Foundation, is launching WEITech Amplify, a six-month post-convocation initiative designed to transition these digital solutions into market-ready, revenue-generating businesses.

Transitioning from a working digital solution to a sustainable business requires an entirely different operational playbook. WEITech Amplify addresses this transition through a dual approach combining tailored, one-on-one digital mentorship with an inclusive peer-learning network.

The twelve project exhibitors are being paired with business consultants, managers, and founders matched specifically to their project’s technical and commercial needs. Operating virtually around each participant’s daily schedule, mentors will guide these educators in defining clear development goals, building customer acquisition plans, and establishing viable monetisation models.

To ensure the benefit of this expertise extends across the entire alumni network, DreamOval Foundation will be facilitating a parallel peer learning community open to all WEITech alumni. Hosting bi-weekly virtual sessions co-facilitated by the mentored exhibitors, the community allows participants to bring real-time business lessons back to the broader group.

The digital platforms and solutions emerging from WEITech Amplify carry distinct value because they are created by the educators who understand Ghana’s education system best. By enabling female educators to transition from digital learners into creators and enterprise owners, WEITech Amplify is driving sustainable income generation while actively modernizing the local educational ecosystem.

WEITech Amplify is implemented by the DreamOval Foundation with funding support from the Internet Society Foundation under its SCILLS programme.
